Everything happens for a reason. . .I guess.

The author's views are entirely his or her own and may not reflect the views of the Utah Jazz.Last night the lovely Mrs. Know Well went out and cavorted about town with some friends and left me home to wrestle our two rascals. (Not these.) Between grilled cheeses, the 8th viewing of Toy Story 3 in two days, and a diaper or two, I managed to fire up the old TiVO and settle in to watch the Jazz play the Hawks.
To my dismay I got an error message that said something like ”adjust the specs on the rotary girder of Satellite 2.” “Okay!” I thought, “ No problem. Yes I can!” Then, imagine my horror as I realized THERE IS NO SATELLITE 2. I was kerfuffled. So instead, I watched (and laughed. . .again) at Spanish speaking Buzz Lightyear. I ended up having a great time with my rascals. (Not them.)
Short story long, I was unable to watch the game last night. Having since caught up with the bloodletting that was Jazz vs. Hawks I am grateful for my TiVo failure. (But it better not happen again DirectTV!) I was simply better off not watching the game, both for my blood pressures sake, as well as the sake of my love for this team.
Because I really do love this team. From Millsap the Lumberjack to the TRUE Ninja D-Will to the RWP’s (Rookies with Promise) there is plenty to be excited about in Jazzland. Except of course, for the blowout losses and numbers that say the Jazz are trending downward.
The point it is, I like to think I missed suffering through the Hawks loss for a reason. in fact I generally believe that everything happens for a reason. And I hope the Jazz players and coaches do too.
Whether or not the Jazz (or you) believe in the metaphysical pseudo-psychological mumbo-jumbo of a belief statement like EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON, I hope they can at least take a step back and ask it’s sister statement WHY DID THIS HAPPPEN?
Because thats where Sloan and Co. need to dwell right about now. Why the blowouts? Why the slow starts? Why the rollercoaster? Why? For what REASON did this all happen? What is the greater good that comes from all this?
What you think I know the answer? I am an idiot. (Remember?)
But I do know, there is a reason for this adversity. And I hope, more than anything, this is one of those painful growth moments where the heart of a champion is found and the team moves on to greater glory.
Otherwise, I’m going to be watching a lot more Toy Story 3.

Trib ran a article about cracks in the Jazz armour.Maybe this game was to show where the cracks are so they can be repaired.
love the nicknames
I’ve said from the beginning that this is just a learning year for the Jazz. We have a young team that is playing together for the first year. Jazz fans are angry because everyone on this site expected to be the number two seed and earn a trip to the NBA finals. I was nearly stoned when I preached that it wouldn’t happen and now after this recent stretch everyone has been slammed down to reality against their will and thus have much reason to complain. Now here I am playing the reverse role of telling people to get up and not be so negative about the Jazz. It’s alright. This is the NBA. Every team has their rough times in an 82 game schedule and things for the Jazz aren’t as horrible as they seem. Come one, we’re still 24-12 with the 4th seed in the west. The future is bright. Lift up your heads and be of good cheer!
I’m on board with that thought, Adam, except I don’t think the Finals are out of the question with this roster. This team can win, we have the right mix of size and skillsets.
Perhaps this is one of the most interesting blogs that I have ever seen. Interesting article, Funny comment. Keep it up! http://www.jerseysonline.co
