Call Me Crazy…

The author's views are entirely his or her own and may not reflect the views of the Utah Jazz.Call me crazy but I honestly think we are done in the “Free Agency/Trade market”.
There could be another “Memo” deal where we trade someone for Money or an unheard of player. Possible suitors for that would be: Raja (Duh), and Earl Watson.
However I am still hopeful that we are pursuing Danny Green. I never was a big fan until I looked and saw rumors of him coming to Utah. I would be a happy camper if he came aboard the ship. I could see a “Sign and Trade” involving Bell and Green.
Other than that I think we are done.
Needs?
Well in personal opinion I think we need one more wing player for Insurance. We have Hayward, Burks, Murphy, Williams. Murphy is a rookie, but I wouldn’t object to him getting minutes. But if one of those guys goes down, our wings are thin. Unless of course you consider Millsap to be a wing.
One more thing. For all you saying Burks can back up M. Williams… stop it. Burks is a 2. He can pull a Dwayne Wade and take the ball up the floor every now and again, but to actually run the offence I think is lucrative.
Again… call me crazy.

We better at least go after Green
Burks running an offense is lucrative? Did you mean Ludacris?
I don’t think as a 2nd unit it is all that crazy. If we could have
Burks/D Green/Carroll/Millsap/Kanter coming off the bench it would be pretty sweet!
I bet we amnesty Bell
I think they still have something up their sleeves. When Greg Miller was asked if there are any other trades or deals imminent, he said, “I hope so.” I think that implies that he’s got something on the table and is waiting for it to go through. I hope we keep making smart moves. I love seeing the Jazz improve.
No Kory we just traded Ludacris to Atlanta for Mavin Williams haha.
Not a crazy idea at all. But I still have the AK – Green idea and kick Raja CJ, Raja, Josh or Earl asses.
Green will be a Jazzman!!!!! There is nnnnooo way he could have not gotten offers from other teams. Jazz in effect have s “promise” for Green. July 11 at the latest hell be with Utah.
The game has changed, and Burks fits the mold of the new PG, like Harden, Wade, Westbrook, Shumpert, Ginobili, they might not all be listed as PG, but they have the ball in their hands and create, Burks will be fantastic.
Als P&R defense still disturbs me. The top 3 teams in the West are P&R dominant, Westbrook, Harden, Ginobili, Parker, now Nash….ALL P&R. Al is a huge liability in a playoff series, I dont trust him.
I Still think we are 2 or 3 moves away from being completely done with our re-build. The moves I am looking to happen are:
1. Sign Danny Green. Maybe do a sign and trade deal with Howard and bell but either way KOC needs to get Green in a Jazz Uniform.
2. Now don’t call ME crazy here…but the other day somebody posted about a trade in which we’d send Big Al and Hayward to the Pacers for Paul George! I know most of you are saying “heck no! We are not getting rid of Gordon!” but I really think Paul George’s circling is much higher than Hayward’s! George is like a Tracy McGrady 2.0! I also think this deal is a lot more realistic then some may think. They just lost Hibbert to the Blazers and now only have Hansbrough so Big Al would be a perfect fit for them and then you add in Hayward’s ties with Indianapolis with it being his hometown they were hoping to be able to draft him in ‘10 until we took him 1 spot ahead of them. He and George are just potential at this point so basically it’s trading potential for a higher-potential along with giving them a center. This the only place I can really see us trading Al to now. Sure we could jump in and facilitate the Nets-Magic trade with Howard and get Lopez in return…but that then still leaves us with a log jam in the front court. That’s why I love the possibility in this trade!
3. We need to draft our PG of the future! And his name is Myck Kabongo! He is Rajon Rondo 2.0 and a pass first PG!
Our team then would look like this in the future!
PG: Kabongo-Burks-Mo.Williams
SG: George-Burks-Green-Murphy
SF: Ma.Williams-George-Carroll
PF: Favors-Millsap-Evans
C: Kanter-Favors
A team like that could easily compete for the top team in the west every year with the Thunder as well as championships!
Spurs loved Howard. If we could drop Bell too , it would be perfection.
@Anthony Not sure its worth moving Hayward. I love Kabongo. George im not convinced
Kelton , i dont know what you watched. But Burkes makes it to the rim anytime he wants. It takes handles and vision to do that. He is a good passer.
I also see dollar signs when I think of Burks playing point guard. It could be VERY lucrative indeed.
Burks played PG in college, he’s a good passer, and they want him to play the position in summer league. I don’t think its as ‘ludicrous’ as you think.
What if we trade millsap for Danny Green I think the spurs would like him better than Howard Watson and Bell
JRN that is funny junk. Harris did look like Luda
Has anyone noticed how much Mo Williams sounds like Karl Malone in interviews? I never realized he had such a southern drawl
I think we have one moe trade to do. I highly dout its going to be hayward though no way hes leaving
The Big Al – Paul George thing doesn’t work. We’d need to take on more $$ from the Pacers or another team.
Kanter has potential, but he isn’t ready to start. If we trade Big Al, we need to bring a center back in the trade. I know many think Favors could play center for now….but I’ve heard the Jazz say they’d prefer he doesn’t start at that position. He may play some center in a reserver role, but not to start there…..according to the Jazz.
Jazz have been listed as potential suitors of Chris Kaman. There is your center boys. I would rather have big Al but I think that KOC has something big that he is cooking up while we speak. Maybe as deal that would package Al and Paul and send them somewhere. Its a lot of salary but its been proven as a top 3 frontcourt in the NBA.
I think your right @JRN. I hope we land some picks from like 2015, 2016, 2017. Set the Jazz up for the next 5-7 years. That way the when the Core Four are starting and going deep into playoffs, the Jazz will be loaded up with lottery talent to back them up.
What the Jazz really need is a true starting PG. We sign Mo Williams (3rd string PG on the Clippers) and pretend that our PG position is filled? Mo Williams is a great backup, but he isn’t/shouldn’t be the Jazz starter.
