I Am Ashamed

Man, its been a while!

I’m just gonna start out with a couple points real quick, then elaborate on them.

1) Paul Millsap

2) Devin Harris “rumors”

3) CJ Miles

4) Enes Kanter

5) NBA.com

1) Paul Millsap… No I want everyone to look back on June of last year. And think of Paul Millsap. 99.9% of us wanted him gone. We wanted to trade him. We wanted to get Dwight Howard. Don’t deny this. You know it, I know it. I AM ASHAMED to say that I was one of those people. But now… I woulda slapped myself! This guy is a beast. Once he gets noticed more around the league, he will start getting 2 pages on NBA.com instead of LeBron.

2) Devin Harris “rumors”… Guys, he isnt getting traded. Unless he does something really bad. ALL point guards have stretches where they arent as good. And heaven forbid that he’s had a rough couple of games. Now being the Jazz fans we are, we want to see him gone. OR would you rather have Earl Watson start? Really think about that question. Really, really hard.

3) CJ Miles… TRADE THIS GUY!!!!!! I don’t care he puts up 20 points in ONE game. You know why? Cause his man on Defense scores twice that when CJ’s guarding him!!! Inconsistency has been a factor of his game for a LONG time. But you want to know what he is consistent at? SUCKISH DEFENSE! Now you may argue that he’s second on the team in steals. But thats only because the other team is trying to force feed the guy CJ’s guarding so much, they sometimes throw it right to CJ! Offence may win games, but Defense wins championships.

4) Enes Kanter… for goodness sakes… when you get the rebound, DONT PUT THE BALL ON THE FLOOR!

5) NBA.com… how in the heck do they have Dwayne Wade, Chris Paul, and Derrick Rose infront of Paul for Race to the MVP??? Their effing injured! Just another thing that goes to show you… this league is about politics.

Thoughts?

Consider me the 1% then, I never wanted Millsap to be traded and never will. He and his contract are perfect for the Jazz. Miles is looking better, no sense in trading him unless it’s packaged for a solid PG. I like this team we have and Kanter will learn that with time, he’s only 19. Before the season started, I thought we’d be .500 at best – that’s being optimistic too.

Consider me the .1 percent as well. Just cause you wanted something, doesn’t mean 99.9% did. None of my friends wanted him traded either. I did find it funny how you rag on people wanting Harris and Millsap traded and then you immediately demand that CJ is traded. In six months when he’s crucial to or team, don’t say 99.9% wanted him traded.

  3. I stopped reading after you saying that in June 99.9% of fans wanted him gone. A trade for Dwight Howard? Really?

  4. L.K.Anderson says:

    You should be ashamed..

  5. I, also, have never wanted Millsap traded. Harris we might as well let his contract expire and free up the money. This years draft, if we can get at least one pick, will solve a lot of problems. We still have our youth to resign in a couple of years.

  6. Nick says:

Ditto to every comment on this post. I love Millsap and he loves the Jazz, you don’t give away a player like that. Dwight howard would never come here. This is Turrible!

  7. kcjazzfan says:

As far as trading someone because they supposedly aren’t any good; why would anyone else want them if that’s the case? Unless there is financial relief involved, a package deal, or the player you’re trading for is even worse and you don’t know it (and the other team is crossing their fingers hoping you don’t figure it out before the trade is made)trading a supposedly bad player for a supposedly good one just doesn’t happen that often. There was a reason the Jazz matched CJ’s contract. They seen what he’s capable of doing if he could just do it on a consistent basis. Let’s hope he gets it together while he’s still under contract so he can benefit this team and plus he would be more valuable if there was a worthwhile trade to be made.

BTW, I didn’t want Millsap traded either but I did feel with the young guys we have coming up there’s always the possibility he could get squeezed out of his position. Coach Corbin was probably thinking that too early on. It looks though as Millsap may be using that as motivation because he’s definitely earning his starting spot now and if he wants to keep it he’ll need to stay consistent so it works out pretty well.

  8. Yep, defin italy should be ashamed. Been a Millsap freak since he came off the bench 5 years ago

  9. Dave801 says:

Who on earth suggested a Millsap for Howard trade???

NO ONE wanted Paul Millsap gone, there were some who recognized that trading Paul Millsap could round out the roster and move the youth movement along, and there were a a lot of embattled arguments over it.

I don’t like any of your points… except the Kanter one, he really needs to stop that.

  10. Colten Davis says:

You wouldn’t trade Millsap for Howard?

  11. A.G. says:

There must be a lot more people on this sight than I realized if only a TENTH of a percent didn’t want Millsap to be traded. Looks to me like 90% of the comments on here are pro Millsap (make that about 91% after I post mine). What I’m saying is, lump me in to the “tenth” of a percent too. Why on earth would the Jazz trade their best player and the closest thing they have to a “go to” guy?
