Meet
If I May

The author's views are entirely his or her own and may not reflect the views of the Utah Jazz. Many of us, I hope, CJ Miles is not playing well. In fact, he sucks. Thats right I said it.
Every time he comes in, our point production goes way down and ourĀ opponents goes up. We saw it last night with the Rockets. And as well as all the other teams. You may think otherwise… but thats what I think. I think we should trade him. Really I do. Yeah, he’s the only “Williams-Boozer” player left. Yeah he scores 40 sometimes. But who cares. We need someone to come and put a solid 12-20 points nightly off the bench. And that is possible because every team has one… almost… maybe not the Bobcats.
Another thing, I think we need to give Kanter more minutes. That guy is a sure double double if he has 5 more minutes then he already does. That guy wants the ball.
Also, give Jeremy Evans minutes. I dont know why he doesnt. He is pure energy. When the Jazz start slumping, he should be the guy called off the bench, go dunk over someone, and get a block on the other end. That gets the rest of the players fired up. Then you can take him out.
I know I’m going to get heat for this one, but its my opinion. Reduce Earl Watson’s minutes. He plays from mid first quarter to 3 minutes left in the second. Either reduce his minutes or start him. We wonder why Devin Harris hasn’t shown up and thats cause he gets less minutes then Earl Watson! But again… it’s my opinion is all.
Give Gordon Hayward the ball. Every team has a player they give the ball too with 30 seconds left of 8 seconds left. Gordon Hayward is our guy. That guy can shoot, pass, get in the lane, dunk, finish. Why do we give it to Al when we’re down 4 with 30 seconds left? He takes 15 seconds to even make a move. Now no doubt Al is playing very well. But Gordon Hayward should be our star.
Feed it to Raja. That guy is H.O.T! What is it now? 17 games in a row with a three pointer made? Thats awesome! So if we need instant scoring, feed it to Raja or Hayward.
Burks is playing very well. Last night wasn’t great but other then that, he has been playing lights out. I loved when he got his number called first before CJ in the first half. I loved it. He can play D and play offense. I love it.
Thats all.
Thoughts?

Agreed, It is killing me that Hayward plays for a few minutes than isn’t coming in until the second half. CJ doesn’t really assist, rebound, or play smart defense and I can’t stand seeing him get the minutes Hayward should be getting. Hayward is not going to develop the way he needs to if one night he gets 20 touches and 30 minutes and the next night he gets 4 touches and 17 minutes.
Overall though I think our inside out offense makes the ball very stagnant. Most work the other way, where the guards set the big men up.
Its because Corbin inserted Burks into the rotation….and used Hayward’s minutes to give to Burks. Dumb! Obviously the minutes need to come from CJ and Howard.
I think there is a trade brewing. Other people do. I have this idea that because Gordon is a young guy, Corbin thinks he will be fine with getting less minutes, but I really think CJ and Howard are getting minutes is so they can get out of this funk, get some good games so they have a better stock during trade time.
@ Gerald, I hope that is the case. CJ and Howard are stinkfaces. CJ is too dang inconsistent and Howard, too old and sloppy. I hope we trade both of them, and I don’t really care who for. I just want my White Thunder to get more playing time.
Yes, definitely play Hayward more. The JaZz can really use his 6-8 points, slow under powered defense, scared to shoot the ball, 4 assists, 3 turnovers and medicate playing skills…..but hey he has pne or twp games a year…..
Jazzman, get off yourself. You’ll probably never like Hayward. Everyone sees what he is becoming and still become except for you (and maybe 1 or 2 other people on this board). Also, it’s hard to hold anything you say with credibility when I’m pretty sure “pne” and “twp” aren’t words.
Hayward is a stud. The kid needs more minutes but he’s still young, they will come.
Oh and to clarify, I have no affiliation with the other jazzman on this forum
He stole my name.
I think Paul would be considered a Boozer-Williams player still.
CJ blows, We will be waiting for his break out year until he retires and then look back and wonder what happened.
Gordon needs more time and someone to help take the pressure off of him. He guards some of the if not the best players in the NBA, of course hes going to have trouble.
There is a reason Watson is getting so many minutes, He didn’t when he backed up Dwill. Because Dwill scored and played defense. PGs have destroyed us this season and I for one am tired of Harris’s air ball 3 pointers at the end of games. I believed in him but he has let me down. We need to trade CJ and either Howard or Harris to get a PG or an outside presence that can open the paint and the other perimeter players.
I just hope Evans is working on his outside shot. He could be a legit force to reckon with if he makes you pay inside and with a 10-15′ jumper.
CJ for Anthony Morrow, it works and anthony is an amazing 3 point shooter hes going to the all star 3 point contest!

And exactly how many years do we have to wait for Hayward to be even just an average player in the NBA?? I would understand if he was a second round or an un-drafted pick, but he was the #9 pick and should perform like one, not be a 6 year project…..look at all the other lottery picks on other teams that start, again I say I guess not all high draft picks take years to be average….
jazzman, you are so ignorant. Him and Favors are right on track. Enough, Hayward is averaging almost 10ppg. The man hasn’t even started a full season worth of games yet. Also, he doesn’t truly get that many offensive touches. He is also a more willing team player.
Ignore “jazzman”, he’s just a troll. Which was evidenced clearly by when Hayward had a few good games a week or two ago, and “jazzman” was off hiding and was no where to be found around here. He literally comes around just to bash on Hayward.
Why does everyone think just because the trade is exceptable on the trade machine its something the jazz or the other team would go for? No offence jason but, there is no way the nets trade miles for morrow unless you throw in a daftpick and morrow isn’t worth cj and a first round dp. Trade for someone better then morrow if you want that deal.
Everyone is hating on howard to when he gets hurt and, doesn’t even get a chance to prove himself to the fans did anyone see how he played tonight he kept us in the game. Burks is taking haywards minutes for his inconsistanty. it teaches hayward if he want to be in the game he has got to find a way to be more consistant out there. Cj is gone in march so burks will take his minutes by then.
I think cj will be gone in march too. Hopefully hayward finds the stroke. A big improvement this year ive noticed he can beat about any guy his position off the dribble. Haywards an indiana baller he will work out the kinks in his shooting game. Personally I think hes a rythym shooter and needs more touches and take shots off the dribble instead of so many set shots. A pump fake into dribble shot would probably work his ryth better
Can we look at the other picks from the year Hayward was drafted?
Evan Turner 7.2 ppg
Welsey Johnson 5.6 ppg
Al-Forouq Aminu 5.1 ppg
So dont give me that bull.
