Player Attitude

The author's views are entirely his or her own and may not reflect the views of the Utah Jazz.

Many of us are freaking out over the Deron Williams fiasco in Beaver. I’m here to set things strait. To say heres the deal.

1. Stopping in Beaver: One of the reasons Deron probably stopped in Beaver having to pee. He knew Beaver is one of the less populated cities thus stopping there. Why else would an NBA basketball player making millions of dollars stop in Beaver. Maybe traffic is frustrating him. Maybe he wanted to stop there to peacefully pee. But not to sign autographs.

2. Other Players: Paul Millsap are really good at signing autographs. But honestly who else wants their autographs other than Utahns? Not to be rude but its not like I’m going to go to LA just to get Luke Waltons autograph. He’s just an example. I hate Luke Walton. If someone in ANY OTHER CITY were to see Deron they’d want his autograph. So he probably didnt wanna sign any more. And thats why Paul and Ronnie are so good about it. Most of theirs only are signed in Utah.

3. The Chain. Players know that when one autograph is signed that the rest of the people in the place are going to want the autographs. So if Deron were to sign that 10 year old boys autograph the rest of the city of Beaver would be there in 4 seconds to get it as well.

4. The Stress Factor. Could have been traffic. Could have been family. Could have been an appointment to get too. He could of been mad about all the reporters sayings he wants a trade when he doesnt. Maybe thats why he didnt just say “sorry kid, I cant” Cause he’s in a hurry or something of that matter.

5. The Sum Of it All. Some of us may get mad about this but we need to realize that NBA players rarely get a brake. So lets stop hating 6′3″ 210 LBSDeron for simply walking past a 10 year old 4′ 70 lbs kid. He has reasons. He loves us. He gives us his all each and every night. If he wanted a trade he’d be gone by now. Lets cut the guy some slack. He does nothing but good for us and he makes one mistake and the volcano erupts.

Thoughts?

    i’m making this into anything. Why two posts?

    This should have been a comment on the other post Kelt, but anyways I don’t think too many of us are making it a big deal at all. It looks like most of us are defending him if not throwing out reasons why he didn’t sign. Anyone who can at least try and put themselves in his shoes would understand. I say no autographs, athletes should sign only official autographs and have them auctioned off for charity. That would be a win win for the athlete and charities.

    @Chase. What?

    @Champ. Coulda been a comment yes. But I have been dry these past few weeks on the post board. I agree with your theory on the charities.

  4. I’m certainly willing to give him a break. It’s got to be tough to be on public display 24/7. I agree that Deron has done a lot for the Jazz and Utah in general. If this were a pattern ridicule might be justified.

    I don’t care what his excuse was. He gets the best of everything and 20 million a year and EVERY penny comes from the fans. This is the role you take on when you become an pro athlete.
    his attitude has gotten really bad this season and has become very cocky. I have lost alot of respect for him this past year. He is just starting to show his true colors. He finally got his all-star appearance and best pg in the league title and now he has started to act like every other @##hole in the league.
    When his contract is up, I don’t expect him to stay.

    Flesh it out with a new blog eh? I like your style.

    Too many words to put into the same post – besides that post was written in all-caps, and well, to tell the truth I only perused it (if its any good, why put it in all caps?)
