You’ve just inhaled a tasty-fresh batch of oxygen that should motivate some of your more complacent blood cells to fire on all cylinders again. You’re welcome. (Cells have cylinders, right? I was never much for Science).
The Utah Jazz took a deep breath this offseason– replenishing and reloading their roster with a new wave of hardwood warriors, and the City of Salt is buzzing like a hornet trapped in a hornet-trap. (That’s a lot of buzzing for those who don’t spend a lot of time around hornet-traps). If there’s one season I’d LOVE to write about as a Jazzbots blogger it’s this one. I hope you’ll consider me.
My name is Kevin Lacy and my wife and I have been Jazzaholics since we were both doing our best Mini-John Stockton impressions as Jr. Jazz members, and even after a couple of interventions (Jazzerventions?) we haven’t yet been able to break our Sloanball addiction. in faCt i’M stiLl a liTtle shAkY fRoM tHe oFf-seAsOn wItHdrAwaL.
I’m just your typical run-of-the-mill upper-bowl dweller, you know the ones who scream at the top of their lungs when there’s a lull in crowd noise, just so maybe MAYBE - Kobe Bryant will hear how overrated us Jazz fans think he is, or how concerned we are over the refs eyesight on a particular play. You know, one of those guys.
Aside from being a Jazz fan (and yes, that is how I identify myself during casual social introductions) I recently graduated from the U with a degree in Film and Media Arts and hope to someday make movies for a living– a big dream, yes, but someone’s gotta do it, right?
Enough about me… Time for the big finish (le gran final):
If you vote for me I can promise you three things- (cue epic 80’s rock guitar solo and driving kick drum beat..yeah..yeah, that’s more like it)
BOOM!
1) Intense and epic posts that will pump you up and never let you down!! Am I exaggerating? Probably. But I’ll try my best to keep my posts as entertaining as possible. Hey we can’t all be ringleaders like Boler and Booner but we can try right?
BAM!
2) A unique perspective from a hardcore fan with a background in screenwriting and the dramatic arts.
DAZZLE! (Hey I’m running out of Sound FX here, gimme a break)
3) A STRONG educated opinion on all things Jazz and I ain’t talking about no college degree. I listen to local sports radio every time I get into my car. Every. Freaking. Time.
(It’s okay to feel bad for my wife at this point)
1280 the Zone, 1320 K-Fan, ESPN 700 just to catch a word or two about the latest Jazz news or discussion. I read every Jazz article on D-News and the Trib, NBA.com, Yahoo! Sports, and watch every highlight of Jazz games on SportsCenter and the local stations (even if they’re games I physically attended!)–
All so I can get every possible angle on the Jazz… wait… I think I really might have a problem… Maybe I should have been listening at a few of those Jazzerventions…
Nah.
Anyway, I sincerely hope you’ll give me a chance to blog for you guys this season. Much love and GO JAZZ!
