Meet
If the Jazz Need Shooters….

The author's views are entirely his or her own and may not reflect the views of the Utah Jazz.According to sources (Adrian Wojnarowski), the Hawks and Nets are in discussions about a trade involving Joe Johnson. Wojnarowski says a decision can be made as soon as Sunday, today. I think this is a perfect opportunity to jump-in and pick up some shooters, while freeing up the front-court logjam.
It would be a three-way traded among the Nets, Hawks, and Jazz.
Nets would get:
Joe Johnson
Hawks would get:
Al, Watson, Bell
Jazz would get:
Marvin Williams, Anthony Marrow, and John Jenkins, future picks and/or small trade exception (from Nets in order to make the difference match up)
Nets want Joe Johnson; Hawks play ISO ball (Al) and only have Teague as their sole PG on the roster (Watson) also losing SG Joe Johnson (Bell), Jazz get three excellent shooters.
Marvin Williams:
SF, 6’9, in 2011-2012 season shot 43% FG, and 40% 3p FG (shot 50% 3p FG in playoffs against Boston, a great defense)
Anthony Marow:
SG, 6’5, Career: shot 45.1% FG, and 42.6% 3p FG
John Jenkins:
SG, 6’4, Career: shot 45% FG, and 44% 3p FG
Jazz flip Al (free up time for Kanter and Favors), Watson (4th string PG), Bell (who cares) for three ELITE shooters, especially from 3 point land.
A lot better than signing Josh Howard to ball-hog and throw bricks at the rim!!

The Hawks are going to give up Joe Johnson AND Marvin Williams and only get Jefferson and two worthless hacks in return? Yeah I’m sure they’re eager to do that
Lets see….reports say Hawks are dumping salary….Johnson contract is seen as “untradeable”…..Hawks would have to take back 90% salary from Nets……Jazz become third team trading 3 players in last year of contract (20M)…….Marvin has 3 years 7M left……that 27M being dumped freeing up 27M for the 2013-2014 season!!!! YES @TACO you are absolutely right that the Hawks would be eager to do thos trade!! Wow.
Trade between Nets and Hawks has stalled:
According to reports, Ferry’s first order as GM is to cut salary; Ferry is “desperate” to unload Joe Johnson’s 4 year 89M dollar contract. The Nets are the only NBA team showing great interest in taking on that loaded contract. The trade right now being proposed is stalled, because Hawks want Brooks in addition.
Hawks get:
Jordan Farmar, Johan Petro, Anthony Morrow and Jordan Williams (ALL EXPIRING CONTRACTS and not All Star talent)
Nets get:
Joe Johnson
Hawks want Brooks thrown in, but Nets do not want to give up Brooks 1M contract. Nets want to execute a sign and trade with the Nets signing Gerald Wallace (4 years 40M), but the Nets do not want to take on any salary (Brooks 1M the exception).
The Jazz would be perfect partners to facilitate this trade!!! Please, KOC, the Nets are throwing away Morrow, and as our payment for being a necessary facilitator, we get Marvin Williams, so the Nets could also send future picks to the Hawks instead of the Jazz. Even the Jazz can thrown in a future pick as well. Jump in KOC, the waters okay.
