I was born in 1979, the year the Jazz arrived in Salt Lake. Thank God I don’t remember those first few years because they sound pretty awful. Dominique Wilkins for cash? I guess you do what you must in order to survive. Since my first Jazz memory–Darrell Griffith hitting a three-pointer at the buzzer to beat Dallas in a mid 1980s regular season game–moments in Jazz history have marked various periods of my life. My brother and I used to listen to the Jazz on the radio while sliding around our kitchen’s linoleum floor, firing shots at the nerf hoop placed atop the pantry door. We also used to tape the games on the radio and listen to them during nights the Jazz were off. I probably listened fifty times to one game where the Golden Griff hit four three pointers in a quarter against Boston. Jumping around the living room as a senior in high school when Stockton’s bomb beat Houston in Game Six still stands as one of my two top sports watching moments of all time (it’s hard to beat sitting in Cougar Stadium when Chris Yergensen nailed that 55 yard field goal to beat BYU in 1993). Now I find myself living in New Orleans, where I teach middle school writing. I’ve made sure my students know Carlos Boozer and Deron Williams and I’ve even managed to convince a few to root for the Jazz over the Hornets. Go Jazz.

I’ve been a Jazz fan as long as I can remember. Some of my earliest memories are going to Jazz games with my grandma and grandpa. I grew up in Emery County, Utah, but for the last 5 years I’ve been teaching school in Bullfrog, right on the shores of Lake Powell. I teach English, Spanish, and computer literacy. In my free time, I hang out with my 2 awesome kids (and my wife, but that’s kind of a given), read obsessively, write, play guitar, ride motorcycles, hike, play basketball, golf, play chess, and trim my beard.

I am a Technical Writer living in Lehi with my wife, two kids and my 99 Nissan Sentra. I was born in the Bay Area, grew up in Orem and attended college at Utah State University. I just plain and simply love the Utah Jazz and would gladly sever half of a pinkie finger if it would guarantee a Jazz championship. Other than that, I spend my days dreaming of a world without Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan, and Dick Bavetta.

I’ve been an obsessive Jazz fan since about the age of 10. I have almost never missed a game (thank you VCR and TiVo) even though my wife is not a fan of watching sports. I’m currently in the process of brainwashing our kids to like watching the Jazz with me. Fortunately, The Bear helps to get their attention.

I grew up in Logan Utah and now live 60 miles south in Farmington with my boyfriend/husband Heinz, we have 9 grown children, 1 amazing granddaughter and 2 dogs. After retiring from Gastronomy Inc. in 2007 I needed a hobby, I bought a camera and started taking pictures. I’m very much the amateur but love to watch people and capture the moment. I’ve been a basketball fan ever since I can remember, starting with the Utah State Aggies, Utah Stars and now the Utah Jazz. Smile, you’re on Jazzbots.
