Injuries a gift? Or lack of depth an issue?

The author's views are entirely his or her own and may not reflect the views of the Utah Jazz.I just read that Earl tore his meniscus in his knee, and CJ suffered a calf strain and is to be re-evaluated in a week. I smiled while reading it.
As Jazz Nation knows, at this point, CJ Miles is a plague. I love the guy outside of the court. He’s hilarious. But, regrettably, his hilarity carries over into his ball game. Why Tyrone Corbin continues to give him playing time, I have no idea. It seems to lead me to question Corbin’s mettle when it comes to professional coaching, and leaves me wanting him to be fired so that some sense can be put into the lineup.
As for Watson, I rarely like a player off the court as much as I do Watson. He’s a hell of a guy (At least, he was until that little drop about “Assessing the situation with his agent” came up) And I loved his early season play. But lately, he’s been off. Not just a little, the guy seems to be a different player. He’s clumsy, clogs the offense and doesn’t seem to have the court vision he did before. Honestly, I believe that Tinsley should be monumentally above him in playing time, and Watson should get garbage minutes with Evans to wow the crowd on their way out, at least until his play begins to improve.
However, the problem this poses is lack of depth on the wings. Alec Burks will undoubtedly get a ton more playing time, which I’m infinitely excited for. The guy oozes potential. And Hayward will be more solid on the floor, with the necessity to step up because of his fallen teammates. But beyond Gordon, Alec and DeMarre Carrol (Who has been PHENOMINAL lately, by the way) as well as the guy we signed to a ten day contract (Can’t remember his name) we don’t have any guys to come in and rest the big guns, unless Milsap and Evans get moved to the two and three position.
Do you see this as a gift? Or a mess in the making?

Gift!!!!!!!!!!! Forces him to finally do something smart
Well in my opinion the Jazz season is over (I hope I am wrong) but watching tonight’s game to this point you can already see how horrible Corbin is on decision making. Burks has not even played the entire first quarter yet Evans and Carroll are off the bench before Burks. Now I understand the Jazz are low on numbers but come on how does he not get the start? I know some will say he has been in a slump but come on you have to give someone more than 5 minutes.
How about Spurs saying let’s not start anyone in hopes that the Jazz can somehow get 8th. In my opinion it would be much better to get a lotto pick because even if the Jazz do make the playoffs Corbin is not going to give any of these young guys the playoff experience.
My wish next year is a new coach but I doubt that will happen.
AGREED!!! GIFT! I didn’t think the jazz were making the playoffs until I saw CJ and Watson were having MRI! Now I honestly believe they can. This game against spurs proves that Corbin has nothing on Pop. Pop with less talents pulls great play out of jobbers; whereas, Corbin with more talent finds a way to retard their growth. A
Your “smiling” at the fact that a couple of our guys got hurt?
Classy comment.
In the words of Daffy Duck:
You’re despicable!
I wasn’t smiling at the fact that they’re injured. Didn’t I say how much I love the guys? But their absence seems to work to the Jazz’s favor.
I guess raja and earl and their agents are classy as well, demanding playing time when they are getting out played by better and younger players. On a positive note, millsap and evans were getting comfortable at the 3 spot which also ignited the defensive block party.
A gifi totally I HATE CEEJAY MILES.
I am allittle unerved about the way others talk about our players and coach . I cannot see why everything has to be negative in all of the posts . Everything said is that our cup is halfway empty instead of halfway full . If I remmeber right we were picked to be Western Conference bottom dwellers this year , yet we are still in the hunt for a playoff spot . Why oh why can we not be excited about that .
I still believe in the Jazz so I say Go Jazz Go !!!!!
@Jay If bottom dwelling is the aptitude we are shooting for then i am happy with half empty. I also get sick of undeserving negative posting by people that have never played nor any common sense about the game. Injuries are never deserved. But playing time should be
