Merry Christmas! It’s a season!

The author's views are entirely his or her own and may not reflect the views of the Utah Jazz.

The NBA will be returning to us Christmas day.

Free Agency/Training Camps will begin December 9th.

And there will be a 66 game season, which equates to roughly 16.5 games a month for each team.

This is both good and bad news for the Jazz. We are young and have the ability to play such a shortened schedule, but we lack a full off-season to prepare our young guys for the season, as well as allowing for Corbin’s newish system to be implemented. This will be a great year for the Jazz in terms of growth, but I do not expect a quick return to the playoffs. Nevertheless, with the hopes of an NBA season, we receive new hope in next years draft picks.

We have prospectively two lottery picks in a very deep draft next year. Golden State’s pick (top-7 protected) and our own pick (top-14 protected or it goes to Minnesota). With the make-up of G.S. and our own team, we are looking at around picks 10 and 11 which would be perfect.

Let’s start the predicting game again.

Starting Lineup: Harris, Burks, Hayward, Millsap, Jefferson

Bench: Watson, Bell, Miles, Favors, Kanter

Potential Draft Picks: Jeremy Lamb (UConn SG) & Kendall Marshall (North Carolina PG)

What are your thoughts? Any trade speculation?

Go Jazz!!
