Favors will not start

Well if this shows us anything about what Ty is thinking and planning on doing this year we are in trouble. First game and we are all ready going to see Favors on the bench to start the game. Next news down the pipeline will be Hayward is not starting. I know it is the first Pre-Season game but Corbin was the same last year and is not going to change that. So this is awesome we are going to sit the Core 4. They are not going to get their minutes and in two years say good bye to them. WOO HOO!! Guess it was not just the lockout shortened season the reason Corbin went to the vets right?

I still don’t get the justification for saying that Favors should NOT start because his shot is not good?!……HUH?!

Favors is an ELITE defender; Howard in his 2nd year (I am comparing to Howard’s 2nd year because of minutes played; I think Howard played more minutes in his rookie year than Favors has played in his 3rd) had NO shot–Howard still as a weak shot, but that doesn’t mean he can’t score. BUT more importantly hes there to play DEFENSE!!!

What I don’t get is why don’t just see what we have with the Core 4/Evans, Carroll, Murphy??? And even if they (which I seriously doubt) become below average players or even BUST, so what!!! Then we know what we have and can use those future draft picks accordingly. But instead we are gonna wait til their contracts are up, and then expect them to resign. B.S.

The only, only, only way I can see this as a positive is if they already know what Kanter and Favors are bringing, and they are just evaluating Milsap and Al to see which one needs to be traded before the season begins. This is probably wishful thinking but I have nothing else.

I know it’s only preseason but…..anybody else ready to jump on the Kanter bandwagon???? Sorry Al supporters but reality is reality–same ole same ole, if Al’s not shooting well (a lot of players shot poorly in preseason) he does nothing else. Hayward shot bad, but at the SG position he had 6 rebounds in 17 minutes, whereas Al, at the Center position and in 21 minutes only had 3 rebounds, 3…..15M, last year in contract by the way.

P.S. Carroll will get no minutes (DNPs) if Millsap is getting minutes at the 3.

Wow, bet your scratching your heads coming up with excuses about why your heroes stank it up against bench players as well as anything else. If favors was tearing it up against other benches you would say, oh he should be in there. Sad thing is he is not. If he cannot tear it up against some bench players then how do you expect him to compete against the elite players in the league.

    It’s the only preseason guys

  5. Not sure what to really say. I didnt see the game because an actual western conference matchup isnt worthy of TV time.

Cream always rises to the top. Favors will start by Oct 31, or jazz will have another #20 defensive year. the highlight of the one post move he had was better than anything i saw offensively from him last year.

so on the box score Kanter played 22 min. Al played 20.

    Kanter had 12-11-2blocks. Al 2-3-and 2blocks. Kanter a double double in 22 min.=awesome
Al 3 rebounds as a 6′10″ center playing 20 minutes? 1-8 FGA’s?? wow, bench scrub stats. Thank god its preseason.

Who cares, like most of the “good” coaches think, the most important is not the Starting 5 but the Finishing 5, the rest is just for egos……..

  7. @Patrick what are you talking about? Favors did better then Al

@French Dude I would disagree since everyone main reason for putting both Millsap and Howard in the starting lineups last year was because they had more confidence as a starter. So there are two examples on our own team just from last year.

  8. French Dude says:

confidence, ego, very thin difference, and it does not change the fact that the important is to be here when it really count, in the money time…….

  9. French Dude says:

and i said “good” coaches…… if you see what i mean

  10. Patrick says:

Dallon, Kanter did better than both Al and Favors. Its not promising if your comparing dud play with dud play. Funny thing is, Kanter has less Basketball and age than both.
