What about this

Tyreke Evans is not going to get a contract extension from the Kings so why not try to get him? Trade Al and Bell for Tyreke and Jason Thompson. So we get a serviceable back up big that is not going to require a ton of minutes. Then we get Tyreke to agree to a contract extension before we make the trade of course that way we would have him under contract.

I don’t think Kings would do it.Throw in next years Warriors pick and maybe.. Or throw in Watson or Tinsley. But yes I would love to see these players in a Jazz uni..

  2. John D says:

Do the Jazz play him as a PG with Hayward or Burks?

Could they develop Hayward as a point forward to help with the assists deficiencies? Would it be too bad if we had a PG who didn’t need to dominant the ball but was a stellar shooter?

  3. @LK I would throw it in there.

@John I agree with you on Hayward learning as a point forward. I think it would be ok to have a PG that was more defense assist driven. If we could get that I would be down. I am just trying to look at some options where we get some talent for Al. Or some hong pieces/ picks

  4. I love the idea of going after Tyreke Evans … he is so much better than Sacramento makes him look… I would for sure throw in the warriors pick (11-14 IMO) …I like Thompson too, but for me, Kanter is going to be way better as soon as he gets a chance. I would rather see him get the minutes, and let jeremy evans and Marvin get some minutes at the 4 also.

I can’t wait to see what Dennis Lindsey has up his sleeve for his first move as GM … that would be a nice one.

  5. Casey Webber says:

I would like to see Tyreke on the Jazz. Maybe some structure would help his game. It could be worth the risk for both teams. I don’t really see Cousins being ok with playing alongside Jefferson and definately not as a long term fit. But… What about trade Al Jefferson and Mo Williams for … dun dun … Calderon, Bargani, and the Raptors next years first round draft pick protected top 6 just to make it realistic… Could Bargani be a winner on the right team? He would be our stretch 4 type player with Favors, Kanter, and Milsap to do the dirty work down low. Calderon is a great passer. He has averaged near 9 assts the last couple years. Either he is underrated or I haven’t seen him play enough.

  6. @Casey Ive been thinking the Rapters would be a good team to make something happen all summer, they have Cap space to work with and the Bargani salary would work with Al. I think they also would be looking for a big to go with the new wing talent they added. Tyreke is an amazing talent. But if Bargani is healthy this year, Id take him over Tyreke. Bargani competes. I think he would be a major Catalyst. He can play about every position but the five. Calderon would be a great backup for Mo, he brings that additional passing game, which fits perfect for us. And we might be able to do that trade keeping draft picks to find the future PG. Could you imagine the offensive power of

    Mo
    Gtime
    Marvin
    Bargani
    Favors

Bargani is a dangerous stretch 4, at 7′ he can handle the rock just like Hayward. That is alot of length on defense to cause other teams problems. And then bring in the bigs against the Lakers. Hayward, Bargani, and Marvin together would be one of the highest BB IQ combos in the league, the ball would definitely move around. Bargani shoots a career 37% behind the arc. Hayward who was our go to shooter last year would be the 4th best shooter. Unreal

  7. disco says:

My only issue with the bargnani trade is that it has the same problem with 4 quality starting quality bigs. The Evans trade is great and i’d rather chuck in Watson than a pick as a pick at least has potential

  8. Kevin says:

Maybe we could trade Big Al and Bell to the Kings for Jason Thompson and a couple vials of the bubonic plague. That way we could inject the virus into each one of the other players so they all get deathly ill.

Tyreke Evans would straight up destroy the young guys on our team. When you have Evans, there’s only one, MAYBE two other guys that will ever get to shoot the ball. So there’s no way Favors, Hayward, Millsap, and Kanter would get the touches they deserve. Let alone Burks, Marvin, and Foye.

Evans is a great player. But we’re not playing 3-on-3. I would never want a guy like him on the team unless we absolutely knew we were going nowhere like the Kings and might as well get some highlightes here and there.

  9. KCJones says:

@Kevin LOL! Awesome response. My thoughts are similar on Tyreke.

I think a distributing PG who can P&R, shoot the three well and run the floor is the perfect complement to our core four guys. Is that Mo / Foye? Maybe it is, we’ll see.

  10. KCJones says:

Oh, I also love the idea of a stretch-four. Being able to attack in different ways instead of three guys that do the same thing helps you create mismatches and exploit the other team’s weaknesses, and a stretch is what we’re missing. (Maybe. Kanter seems to have a good outside shot, but Corbin insists on posting him up.)

  11. Omar says:

At this point Id trade Al and Bell for 1 unprotected 1st from about 15 teams. So anything above that is a steal Id say.

I dont know if Tyreke would sign long term, but even then, Id rather rent Tyreke who has wwaayyy more upside than Al and is versatile/athletic, so Corbin could use him in a variety of ways, and make him play team style bball–Ive never read anything about Tyreke being a bad teammate, so with talent around him, I think hell play more team ball. I love J Thompson as the 4th big I was hoping Jazz signed him as a FA after trading Al. JT. Physically dominated Al the game Cousins was in foul trouble, nearly had 20 and 20.

I really like the idea of a stretch 4, and Calderon is a pass first high assist PG, I think thats a great deal. please be October already!!! Come on Lindsey, one or two more trade please

  12. Question though.. If we got someone like Bargnani then would you be willing to trade Millsap as well? That would give us 4 bigs to share the minutes if you include Evans. So we would not have to give Kanter 35 right out of the gate. We would then have to get a 5th big probably a C in case someone got hurt. No one special just someone to take some time just in case. Like Mejiri who played with us In the Summer League.

  13. Guido says:

Tyreke for Raja and Big Al? that would be awesome guys…. think bout it?

  14. Logan says:

what about trying to get Rajon Rondo. You would probably need a 3 team trade to make the salaries work.

  15. @Logan if we got rid of Al in the process I think he could play for us. Otherwise I think Al mitigates what Rondo does. He drives in the lane with his speed and kicks it out. Where does Al park? In the lane. So if we did this then ya I woukd do it. Picks woukd have to be exchanged as well

Before anyone suggests a trade, use a “trade checker” like,

    You’d find out right away…
    Players with Trade Restrictions
    Jason Thompson from Sacramento Kings
Thompson recently signed a contract and, as a result, he cannot be traded until Jan 15, 2013.

  17. L.K.Anderson says:

Dallan what some of the others have said about Al and Cousins playing the same position. Kings also have a young Robinson who some will say he is as good or better than Davis. Also Kings are pushing Cousins to be their “Star.”
With that said how about a three way. Raja and AL to Houston, with Evans and a throw in to Jazz and whatever Rockets players fit in. They have way more than their roster can handle for opening day.

  18. Ya L.K I could really see Houston trying to do something if they have not tried all ready. I almost think they are waiting until training camp to see what Kanter and Favors and Evans bring to camp and if they have a great camp I would bet something happens. Almost like the Memo trade a year ago. I woukd much rather lose someone in training camp then mid season

  19. @Disco I consider Bargani a PF at deepest but I think he is a more natural SF like Dirk. which would push Hayward to the SG most of the time. Supposedly this year the flopping rules are going to change, which would make the league into Euro style. If a team ever tried to go small on us or tried a shooting contest like Orlando last year, we could murder them.

  20. I actually put a trade into the trade machine today. We trade paul to the bucks bell to the kings. We get ellis and thomas the 60th pick of last years draft in case you dont know who im taking about. And the kings get bell and larry sanders. It seemed very fair and great fits for everyone. We get alot better in the front court along worth a star caliber player maybe two. Bucks get help inside and, the kings get an athlete with sanders
