Jazz will have almost 3 more million in cap space.

Some good news came out today. The salary cap is almost 3 million higher than expected. This increases the chances of the Jazz resigning Wes Mathews and adding another player. It is also reported that they got a 13 million dollar trade exception from the Bulls in the Boozer deal. The Jazz might not be done yet.

Al Harrington to Utah has a very good possibility. He averaged 17 and 6 last year and i think he is the best player out there who is of a quality BIG. He is 6 ft 9 and he has an attitude but the jazz could use that.

I think we should sign Brad Miller to the Mid-Level Exception, since he is the best available Center right now.
I have also liked watching James Augustine in the Summer League and he would be a bargain at the minimum salary.
I would rather have David Lee than these guys, but a sign-n-trade probably won’t happen. We could also take in Beasley and give nothing back. Heat would love this, but might be a little to late since Lebron in on tonight.

I really hope we don’t go after Beasley, he really seems like the type of athlete I despise (too focused on other things, off the court trouble, etc.). Harrington would be solid with the Jazz…Sounds like D. Lee is head to Golden State, ugh.

  4. @ john I agree with you on the miller deal but who else is looking for greener pastures that can matchup with our current players. We do need a backup to milsap who probably will be the new PF. What we need is a quality second string nonrookie player to rest our first string. When does management of the team stand up and make some bold moves. I am concerned that the players in place are just not enough to cover that need, what players of the flash are ready to step up to the next level and say were next and we want it or would harrington be a tough buy. All these options are too much just to ponder. Beasley is a problematic player who would fit but he’s just unstable as far as scoring and his defense is a little lackluster. Where is brandon bass playing and why can’t we go after him. He is a solid player with a good work ethic or how about mikki moore returning. Here is another returning player to consider louis admunsen.

I dont see where Utah will be getting an extra 13 million for the Boozer deal since well there was NO deal, Boozer left under the free agency rules which mean the Jazz get squat. If the Jazz would of done a sign and trade it would of been a different story, but that didnt happen. Its now really up to Greg Miller if he is going to venture off into luxury tax like he did last year. The Jazz have already used the only exception they had for Matthews. I dont see the Jazz doing anything remarkable unless KOC proposes a good plan to the Millers and they buy off on it. Otherwise, nothing is going to happen until they rid themselves of the stupid AK contract.

  6. Mike Nguyen says:

We did do a sign and trade. Sign and traded Boozer and a protected second round pick for the trade exception which totals boozers first year +100k about 13.1 mil.

  7. Michael says:

Im not from Utah nor live in Utah so I was unaware of a sign and trade…..it was just reported he signed, nothing about a sign and trade

  8. kevin says:

Kevin Oconner confirmed it on NBA TV

  9. Mike Nguyen says:

sweet than its settle now lets see if we are going to do anything.

  10. kevin says:

I hope they do something with it.
