Pick you’re Jazz Squad

The author's views are entirely his or her own and may not reflect the views of the Utah Jazz.

Now last night when I was working I was thinking, If you could have any player (that has been with the Jazz) from any point in time what would your team be? Have to have 13 players since that’s the League Minimum. Starting 5, backup, and 3 bench.

My Lineup:

PG: John Stockton – Howard Eisley

SG: Deron Williams – Raja Bell – Wesley Mathews

SF: Andrei Kirilenko - Jeff Hornicek – CJ Miles

PF: Karl Malone – Carlos Boozer

C : Mark Eaton – Al Jefferson – Mehmet Okur

Just imagine if we could have this team right now with all the players in their prime. We’d be unstoppable.
It’s just fun on what you could come up with.

What’s you’re Team?

    Here goes

PG- John Stocton- Deron Williams- Pete Maravich
    SG- Jeff Hornacek- Dell Curry
SF- Adrian Dantley- Jeff Malone- A.K. 47
    PF- Karl Malone- Carlos Boozer
C- Mark Eaton- Al Jefferson- Thurl Bailey

I can’t believe some of the guys you left out. C.J. Miles? Really? Howard Eisley? Hmmm… I question your team. lol. It’s all good though. To each his own. ;)

@Andrew…interesting question, thanks for posing it.

    PG: John Stockton, Deron Williams
SG: Darrel Griffith, Jeff Hornacek, Raja Bell (need a little defense)
SF: Adrien Dantley, Bryon Russell, Andrei Kirilenko
PF: Karl Malone, Carlos Boozer, Thurl Bailey
    C: Mark Eaton, Mehmet Okur

*Hoping Al Jefferson could become part of this list someday soon; since he hasn’t actually played with the Jazz yet, I left him off.

@Joseph…Pistol Pete is an excellent call, of course. I went only with players I remember, and I’m a little too young to have ever seen Maravich play (though he was clearly one of the most skilled players of all time). Jeff Malone could definitely score the basketball, but I stuck Raja Bell in there because I need someone in the backcourt to play defense. Matt Harpring was also a guy I really wanted on here but couldn’t find room for him.

  3. Alex Burnett says:

    PG: John Stockton, D-Will
    SG: Jeff Hornacek, Raja Bell
SF: Adrian Dantly, Andrei Kirilenko, Jeff Malone
PF: Karl Malone, Carlos Boozer, Thurl Bailey
C: Mehmet Okur, Mark Eaton, Al Jefferson

Considering none of them are ever injured.
Injury status, place Mark before Mehmet.

This would own. Championship for sure.

Here’s what my all time Jazz roster would look like.

PG- John Stockton, Deron Williams, Ricky Green
SG- Pete Maravich, Jeff Hornacek, Darrell Griffith
SF- Bryon Russell, Jeff Malone, Andrei Kirilenko
PF- Karl Malone, Adrian Dantley, Carlos Boozer
C- Mark Eaton, Thurl Bailey, Mehmet Okur

How does Eisley, Bell, Matthews, Miles, and Jefferson make it on your list of all time Jazz greats? And why do you have D-Will at SG and Hornacek as SF?

  5. Andrew says:

I pretty much did what James did. Put who i’ve seen play in there, obviously if i’d seen other players like Pistol Pete or Jeff Malone they’d probably be on there.
I put Deron at SG becuase he can play SG. He’s big enough to cause problems, just look at the few plays where he drew fouls against Melo and Kobe in the Playoffs.

  6. Adam says:

Oh, I guess I should make my list clear. I haven’t seen half those players on my team play, but I am very well aware of who they are and what they did for us so I put together what I thought would be the All Jazz team, not just the All Jazz Adam Has Seen team. That’s mine anyway.

  7. Joseph says:

Well, if you say “all time jazz team” then I’m gonna take that literally. In other words, it doesn’t matter if I’ve seen them play or not. Just because someone hasn’t seen Jordan play, that doesn’t mean he wasn’t the best. You get my point.
