A Jazz list of MUST-GOs!

The author's views are entirely his or her own and may not reflect the views of the Utah Jazz.Anybody that listens to RFH on X96 is aware of a little segment they call “Must-go.” The segment is a rip-off of Peter Griffin’s “What really grinds my gears.” I am going to rip-off the rip-off, which is probably a rip-off of something else and present my list of Utah Jazz presentation must-gos.
Must-go #1 – Harpring’s telestrator: I appreciate Harpring’s take on the Utah Jazz, and basketball in general, especially since he has played professional basketball within the last 50 years (sorry Boone), but they need to ban him from the telestrator.
Demonstration#1:
Ok … that clip was actually pretty funny because that guy can DANCE!!! Harpring however unnecessarily uses the telestrator to point out the guys sweat. Madden used to do this to compare football players butt sweat (true story).
Demonstration #2:
Please notice that he is the focal point of the shot … if not the only person on the screen. Matty … telestrator is NOT necessary.
Must-go #2- Thurl Bailey saying “Mouse in the House”: Thurl man … stick to making Christmas albums and give up commentating. I kind of feel bad for you … your lack of enthusiasm was hidden by Pace Mannion’s ability to annoy. Now that he is gone I notice so much more … like if a there is any break in a sentence you enthusiastically blurt out “Mouse in the House.”
Must-go #3- Alema Harrington: I miss David James … that geeky little guy knew what he was talking about. I refuse to take anything serious from somebody who approved the following sports show titles: “A-game” and “Powerhouse”
Must-go #4- Bolerjack yelling “BUCKLE-UP” with more than two minutes left in the game. I point this out because once a “BUCKLE-UP” is released they shout it after EVERY SINGLE BASKET! Now I take “BUCKLE-UP” as I better buckle-up for fifteen minutes of the phrase “buckle-up.”
In all seriousness the Jazz put on an entertaining production and I appreciate the effort.

I miss David James too. I dig Alema, don’t get me wrong but I like Alema.
I’d love to see more P.K. he doesn’t give a $#@$ and tells it like it is and I love that kind of sports analyst.
I think the whole “T 4 2″ intro needs to go as well….Thurl, you look like a dork dude.
I love the buckle up!!! It’s a classic he has been doing for years (ok, more like 3). Agree on booting Matt Harpring, but Ron Boone back with Bolerjack! They were amazing together. I like Alema, they need David James back, and I’m not sure about Thurl; he’s decent.
David Locke must go.
@Adam Boot Matt? NOOOOOOOOOOOO! give the guy a break, he’s a rookie broadcaster, he doesn’t know the ins and outs of telestrating and such.
As for Boler’s buckle ups… He needs to use them in moderation, as well as his Hammer Downs.
Locke needs to go. It kills me when I’m stuck at work listening to the game on the radio. I never know what the damn score is.
I actually like Harpring and his telestrator, they give me the lolz, but I also like when Boone is with Bolerjack too… I wouldn’t mind if they traded every other game lol.
I also enjoy Thurl’s bits as well, then again, I’m easily entertained so I don’t require too much from my broadcasters (other than that they tell me the damn score on the radio!!!)
Can’t agree with complaints about Harpring, I love to watch and listen to him, telestrator and all. I would not want Booner back more than a couple of times a month. As far as the “Buckle Up” if the Jazz ever had a blowout win going or won without having to stage a comeback, the buckle up slogan would probably be used less often. I do agree about David James I miss him during all the segments, I don’t even watch the pregame or halftime anymore. Bring back David James PLEASE!
Locke, Buller and PK all need to go, not a fan of James either, but he is tolerable, but the DJ-PK show Blows.
Big T is a stud and Bring back Horny.
I agree with Brian the trio of Locke,Buller and Pk are a modern day version of the three stooges, who were pathetic in thier day.
The best thing they did was to get rid of David James he was a loud mouth that liked to hear himself talk, U quit waching the pre game and half time because of his ranting and stupidity. Alema and Thurl are a great improvement and Matt is a refreshing addition although Rom Boone does a great job.
Since Hot Rod retired David Locke is impossible to listen to.
I agree with the radio. You have to drive all they way home and you might know the score. Also Boler and Harp need to quit talking about the great foul shooting just before the now missed shot. Quti jinksing the players..
-Love Harpring & the telestrator, & the fry sauce. I agree, you can bring Boon back every now & then, but the leave Harpring in for the majority.
-Buckle-up could be used a little less, but the idea is fine. Don’t forget Hot-Rod had a million little sayings, Bollerjack just needs to get a little more creative.
-The DJ-PK show is so annoying. Everytime I get into my car in the morning and I have KFAN still playing, I immediately change the dial. PK is like listening to a little whiny girl, and his points are super opinionated and not based in fact, (also, I don’t think he has ever actually played basketball in his life, because he seriously has no idea what he’s talking about sometimes).
DJ I actually don’t mind, but he was just so geeky. Maybe it was Pace that I hated last year, because I’ve enjoyed the pre & post game shows a lot more this year.
-Locke is actually not too bad to listen to, if he would only just say the score more often. I just miss Hot-Rod.

One note on Locke I like his analytics and numbers and to read his stuff but his Play by play of games sucks, I cant even picture what is going on like with ole HotRod

I’m just so glad I don’t have to listen to Locke on the radio. he spend about 25% of the time actually talking about the game and his radio show consists of insulting callers. Him being fired from Seattle was a no brainer.
All he does is tweet about how great the other teams we are playing are and the negatives of the Jazz.
I think Harp and Boler are brilliant together. They crack me up and I really enjoy listening to them. I do think the whole “How did I do” thing after reading the Groove satelite promo is getting old though.
For the record: I never said Harp must go … just the telestrator. Harpring is refreshing especially after hearing about how guys used to play in the 1940’s (I admit the 1940’s is not accurate so no need to fact check it “that-guy”)

I love Harpring and Boler, prefer it to Boone and Boler. I agree BUCKLE UP is overused, he should only use it the last 1:30 of the game, and David Locke must go, I’m confused just listening to him talk.
Ok, is it just me, or has bringing in Harpring made boler more biased towards the Jazz. Boon and Boler rarely seemed like Jazz fans when compared to Matt and Boler.
Don’t get me wrong, obviously our announcers are jazz fans, but sometimes they show it a little to much.
Instead of “he just traveled there” or “that was a foul” it should be “could have been a travel there” or “looks like some contact on that shot”
they just seem more biased then usual
they worst, is when boler says, “and ______ hammers down a 3 (or jumper)” how do you hammer down a three? (use that one on dunks boler)
I wonder if any of them read these or even management..LOL
Matt Harpring is actually very fun to listen to other than when he tries to advertise, it just sounds scrypted and unsmooth, but other than that he is doing a great job!Ron Boone however was a fresh breath of air after the game was over and was putting in his two cents.. I love Booner! bring him back! Will somebody go to the Jazz game and tell that retard that dances in the front row that he looks like a complete jack ass?? can you believe this guy? seriously he looks like a retard! I’m embarrassed for him, when he danced I was at home on my couch covering my face that’s how ridiculous he looked! I could have sworn that you said he could dance on your post, and if you really think so than you are crazy as hell! Go Jazz!!!!!

Would you like to explain what a retard exacty is and how they dance? Because I have seen numerous men of average or above average intelligence dance pretty badly. Maybe that is just how he expresses his excitement about his favorite team. Would you like to submit a video of you dancing?
That is exactly how I dance..and dress…when I watch Jazz games at home. The wife dresses up like a Jazz Dancer. And we dress our two-year-old up like Bear. We really get into it.

Hey Jazz Fan, while your at it why don’t you throw in some remarks about gays, just so you can pull off a perfect tri-fecta of bigotry! Pure class.
