OUT OF TOWN AND JAZZLESS!!!

The author's views are entirely his or her own and may not reflect the views of the Utah Jazz.I just returned from a six-day business trip from Baltimore where I attended a conference that contained, no exaggeration, 38 PowerPoint presentations, one of which was a PowerPoint presentation on how to give a PowerPoint presentation (yawn).
While on the road I realized how difficult it is to be a Jazz Fan in a foreign land especially when armed with nothing but a company laptop with an ultra-sensitive website blocker and a flip phone where the most impressive feature is an alarm clock.
I found myself relying on the ticker tape displayed on the bottom of ESPN for my up-to-date Jazz updates. Do you know how frustrating it is to stare at the tiny print on ESPN ticker tape on a night where about forty NCAA Men’s basketball games took place?
While staring at tiny script at the bottom of the screen I kept finding myself giving my eyes a rest by watching the interview of Brandon Marshall only to realize that I just barely missed the most recent Jazz update on the ticker tape.
The closest I came to actually watching actual Jazz footage was while sitting in a Radisson Hotel Lobby with what looked like ESPN’s around the NBA playing in the distance whilst in a deep conversation with a colleague from Louisville.
I would keep glancing over his shoulder and he would notice and look over his shoulder because he was alarmed by my glare as if I was watching someone with a hammer approach the back of his chair.
I am happy to be home and can’t wait to get my next Jazz game fix. By the way … how rigged is the NBA All-Star game? After last years ballot I am honestly surprised Allen Iverson didn’t make the ballot again!

Know the feeling of frustration of not being able to watch or even hear a JAzz game while out-of-town. I spent last Thanksgiving in California with no computer and had to rely on the little bit on ESPN also and it was awful. I don’t know if the All-Star ballot is rigged, but it is just a popularity contest based almost completely on name recognition and accomplishments from the year before or even years before.
