I was surfing the world of Yahoo when I was pleasantly surprised to find an article about our fan-favorite Enes Kanter:

Dude’s gotten ripped – like our own personal Dwight Howard.

  1. If he plays like a starter this year, that would be awesome. Enes could be a 5, Al could be locked in at 4 and Paul at 3, Gordon at 2, and Mo at point guard. That would be a good lineup, because it would allow the Jazz to be even deeper at the 4 and 5 positions, making those bench positions more interchangeable in the case that one of those starters start off the game playing less than starter quality minutes. It would also give Derek, Enes, and Al more competition for those starter minutes at center and power forward, although I believe that those players will be getting essentially starter-type minutes whether they are on the bench or starting. Does that make sense to you? I hope so. And as someone posted a few days ago, those players will be playing better partly because they will be competing for more minutes. All three of those players are good tweener-types, which is a good sign.

  2. I think the front office managed to put together a fantastic group of talents this season. Now, it’s just a matter of the coaching to put the correct pieces on the floor at the right time. I’m cautiously optimistic.

  3. I am in a way concerned about how Kanter lost all this weight so fast. 4 pounds a week is the max you should lose safely and even in a 10 week span (it was shorter) he would have lost 5 a week. Now he is on a diet that does not fit his size. They figured out he is eating about 2500-2750 calories and he should be around at least 4000. He could damage his liver permanently which would not be good at all.

  4. wow. @Dallan: good point
