I have to say, even though 31 in a summer league game isn’t extremely impressive, but still, I don’t remember any of our guys being that dominant in the Summer League. I think Burks is making a case to have a significant role next year, potentially even a starting spot. I’m still waiting to see what kind of potential he has at the point, but regardless, I think we have an excellent talent in this guy.

Burks needs to get on the court. Burks has to be the guy in the second unit to be the primary scorer/creater whether its a SG or PG. Burks will be the second best player by the end of next season.
Burks and Kanter did great. Anyone know why Evans isn’t playing?
Im leary on the passing element Burks avoided, but when he was shooting such a high % that maybe thats cool . His ball handling looks real nice. There are good athletes on the floor fighting for a spot on a roster so I think he did beat legit defending off the dribble. It looked like he completely ignored Kanter on a couple drives that Kanter was wide open close to the rim.
Yeah whats up with Evans???
Evans is not a sophomore in the NBA, so he is not supposed to play in the Summer League.
Zero assists in 30 min for a possible PG is kinf of problematic in a jazz system. I know the young Stockton is gaining ground at this position and that Burks did not really played PG in the first 2 days. Burks is more enclined to develop into a Monta Ellis type of guard than in pass-first PG.
He has zero assist because he is a shooting guard not a point we need to stop thinking of burks as a point because he isnt. And evans hasnt played because he wasnt signed yet he should be playing next game i think he just signed his contract today actually
Reports said that Evans was training and supporting the team in Orlando. Yesterday everyone was complaining that Burks didnt play well, today it apparently doesn’t matter that he got 31 cos it’s only summer league or more complaints about a lack of assists. Some people are never happy
Evans was technically not on the team until he could sign his contract today. My guess is that has a lot to do with him not playing among other reasons.

@Henri he made some good passes but they were missed. He was not a ball hog by any means. He just is not playing with great players at the moment. You can be one of the best passers and never get an assist if no be makes the shot haha

It’s exactly how I feel every thursday night why playing the point in my veteran’s over 40 (or under 80) team. I should make 30 assists every thursday hahahaha !
I’m not saying that it’s not impressive, I’m just saying that this doesn’t mean he is going to go out and start dropping 30 each game in the regular season. I personally think that Burks should definitely be the main focus off the bench along with whichever big comes off the bench (Al/Sap) but if he makes the progress that I feel like he can, he is going to be demanding starters minutes by his 3rd season.
Getting to the rim and the free throw line is a huge talent and Burks has it. It’s really reminiscent of Dwyayne Wyadye. If he can become a great three point shooter, that will be a dangerous player.
So he should be able to play today? If he is that’s makes this summer league way more exciting!
Definitely love his efficiency. Getting to the line is huge. Reminds me of when Brandon Roy was healthy, albeit a little smaller.
