Meet
Some Crazy Jazz Fans on Here
Posted by: Jazzville on December 5th, 2011
The author's views are entirely his or her own and may not reflect the views of the Utah Jazz. Here is a list of crazy things I have seen fans post on here over the last week or so….
-Listing Jeremy Evans as a backup 5 (C)
-Saying Favors can play the 3 (SF)
-Saying the Jazz have over 13 million in cap space
-Saying the Jazz should sign JJ Barea cause he will be a starter eventually and could be the PG of the future
-Saying we should start Hayward at the 1 (PG)
-Saying we should trade for CP3 AND saying we could put together an offer of Millsap and CJ they couldn’t turn down
-Saying the Jazz are Oklahoma City 2.0
-Tons of hype about Evans (which I understand given his efficiency and energy)
A whole bunch of other stuff that is absurd.
Jeremy Evans will be what he was last year. He will be that every year. He will get better but can we stop talking about him as if he is some crucial piece to our future?
Favors wouldn’t, shouldn’t and couldn’t play the 3. Your 3 has to be able to shoot, handle the ball, pass, and defend other 3’s.
-Hayward could actually play the 1 for small stretches but he won’t start or play big minutes at the 1.
-The Hornets would be insane to trade CP3 to Utah for any combination of players we have.
-We don’t have as much cap space as everyone seems to think.
-JJ Barea isn’t a starter. He was successful as a scoring combo guard off the bench because of his role as an energetic, change-of-pace player off the bench playing 18 minutes a game. PS-we won’t be able to match offers he’ll get. Someone will overpay for him.
-Yes we are young like OKC, and yes we are rebuilding through the draft like OKC, but OKC drafted Kevin Durant. KEVIN DURANT.
I know it’s fun to talk about things that could happen even if they aren’t realistic but some of these things are just too much.

I agree with a lot of what you said, but 2 things. NO could think about making a trade because they feel like they want to get something just in case his contract is over and he just leaves. This could happen. As for the fact that OKC drafted Kevin Durant, we could be saying “The Jazz drafted Gordan Hayward. GORDAN HAYWARD.” Or could say “The Jazz drafted Enes Kanter. ENES KANTER.” Or could say “The Jazz made the best trade of the decade in getting Derrick Favors. DERRICK FAVORS.” With that you just don’t know yet. Think about where Malone was drafted, or even where Stockton was drafted. I have a good idea you would have been one of those people if you had been an adult at that time of drafting Stockton to boo when the Jazz drafted him.
Don’t make a post of things that are “absurd” then take my words out of context. What I said, specifically, was that if our young guys live up to their potential they COULD become OKC 2.0. I NEVER said they were currently.
BTW, this post makes you sound like a know-it-all ass hat. Who are you to say any of these things are absurd? Can you see into the future and say with any certainty that none of these things will happen? The only absurd thing on this site is this post. People have every right to state their opinions on here without being attacked for it.
P.s. in a couple years we could be saying the Jazz drafted Enes Kanter, ENES KANTER! You don’t know any better than anyone else that the Jazz haven’t, or won’t, draft another super star.
Oh, I didn’t see Gerald’s comment, but I echo his sentiments.
So our big strength (when we made the playoffs) vs the Lakers was D-Will right?
Gasol > Boozer
Bynum > Fes, Elson
(Did Memo actually ever get in the game vs the Lakers?)
MWP (Artest) = Kirilenko
Kobe > CJ, Brewer, Matthews
Deron > Fisher…right? right???
Oh wait, not so much. Fisher knew how to get low to the ground and wide-stanced, and he really stymied D-Will, who relies on barreling through and past people.
I went in to all of this to really dispute one of the OP’s points above. It’s about matchups, especially in the postseason. JJ Barea has his place. And his skill shone against a PG like Fisher. JJ Barea tore. him. up. And it was something D-Will couldn’t do, superstar though he is.
Guess what….Kevin Durant was one of the few players being drafted in the last 5 years that was certain to be an all-NBA players. That’s rare. I’m talking about top 5 players, not potential all-stars. Sure Kanter or Burks or Hayward could be an all-star but guess what, I do have a crystal ball and none of those guys is going to be in MVP or best player in the league discussions…..
ps-KCJones, what in the hell are you talking about? D-Will absolutely destroyed Fisher. One of the only reasons we were able to compete in any fashion with them. What series were you watching?
@A.G- you are quite the hypocrite. Calling me a know it all ass hat for stating my opinion one minute, then telling me everyone has the right to state their opinion on here without being attacked the next. Exactly who did I attack? I simply shared some information that IN MY OPINION was absurd. You are the only one making attacks.
Calling MY OPINION of the potential of this team absurd isn’t an attack? How about taking my words out of context and acting like I said the Jazz were already equal to the Thunder? The name calling may have gone too far and I apologize , but I take exception to someone skewing what I say to lend credability to their own argument. The fact is NO ONE knows how good this team is going to be, not even you and your imaginary crystal ball. That’s what makes speculation so interesting, the future seems bright for this team and people are getting excited. Who are you to shoot down thier optimism?
Jazzville, share your stuff but don’t be a complete tool. Yeah you can through some stuff around and argue your point but come done off the soap box and just share your opinion. If you disagree then say that or like I said argue your point. Back it up don’t just call people out:) thats my opinion like it or not:)
