You Need Me.

Posted by: Sean Seastrand on October 18th, 2010

The author's views are entirely his or her own and may not reflect the views of the Utah Jazz.

I should be a Jazzbot for one reason: You need me.  This site needs me. I could go through all the classic reasons that I am sure every writer sends you; I watch every game, I love the Jazz, I love basketball, I know a lot about the NBA, etc.  Those are all true, but boring.  I like to stir the pot.  If you could go and read all of my blog entries I have written on here, and my comments on other articles, you would see a lot of controversy. Now don’t get me wrong, it isn’t the Ron Artest, Eminem kind of controversy.  I just like to be the realist.  Jazz fans have a tendency to forget about our flaws, and to admit our weaknesses.  I am all for optomistic (nobody is as optomistic as I am for this season) but at the same time, I like to create conversation using statistics and numbers.  I eat, sleep and drink basketball. I played college basketball and currently am assisting the head coach at Timpanogas High School.  It is my life.  I hate Michael Jordan because he made me cry my eyes out when I was a young kid watching the Jazz with my dad and Grandpa.  Not only do I get more people to comment on the blogs with my opinions, but I get more traffic to the site when me and a few people engage in a discussion.  I also have experience blogging about the Utah Jazz. Beleive it or not, before I knew about this site, I created my own blog where I could write my thoughts about the Jazz games.  My freinds were the ones that encouraged me to do this. If you would like to check it out, the address is www.sean-and-jake.blogspot.com.   I have the time, the writing skills, and the basketball perspective to write the kind of articles that get a lot of views. I would love to put on my blog that I am now writing for UtahJazz360.com and have all the people that were reading my blog (avg. 150 views a day) join this site.  Hopefully you will see me fit to be a Jazzbot. I truly feel like this site needs some more interesting points of views. Everyone seems to be writing about the same things over and over.

I agree, we do need more and different points of view. There is nothing wrong with being optimistic, but if that optimism does not take into account some of the realities of professional basketball it can be misplaced. One reality that Jazz fans need to grasp is that there is never going to be another John Stockton/Karl Malone, they were one of a kind, we need to move on.

  2. rehs says:

ya we need different stuff. i’m sick of reading the same old stories about the same old things on here. ps-i liked your blog

  3. Jake Collins says:

I can’t wait to read your stuff throughout the season Sean. There is more excitement about this season than any other year I can think of and I will be checking your blog regularly. I easily get bored with most articles and blogs but I like you Sean because you have a different, entertaining, and thoughtful point of view.

  4. Reese says:

I hope you win! I will read your stuff all the time.

  5. Duece says:

@Deb…That’s not true. There are many different points of view on here, MANY!There are many realists on here as well.

I agree that non-Bot fan blogger posts are the same over and over, but the current Bots are also controversial as well. Look into past blogs and you will see a lot of clashing views and opinions based on the post.

@Sean…regardless if your a bot or not…feel free to create blogs all you want as a regular fan since you feel we need you.

It is great to read all the different views about the Jazz. It gives it a bit of diversity and helps to avoid bias’s. Hope you make it.
