Short and Sweet Post Re: Jazz Future

Posted by: Chris on June 22nd, 2012

The author's views are entirely his or her own and may not reflect the views of the Utah Jazz.

As the title indicates, I’ll keep this short.

Our future should be invested in Kanter, Favors, probably Hayward, and Millsap.

Though I’m less critical of Jefferson’s defense than most (he does have glaring weaknesses, but he also has strengths such as his ability to man defend without fouling), his skillset isn’t as varied as Millsap’s, and he’s stunting the growth of our younger players. I love Jefferson and he’s a top-25 NBA player … but …

We should trade Al Jefferson right now, it’s what’s best for the team moving forward. We also should play PM24 more minutes at the 3 position, as a consistent 3-point shot is all that’s missing from his SF game (and he just needs to work on it, damnit! His jumper is such a beautiful, pure motion, he’s just gotta get used to hitting from range).

Discuss.

  1. John says:

    you forgot Burks

  2. Al is not a top 25 player just cause he is payed that way

  3. Jefferson is one of the top 6 or 7 centers in the NBA. So I’d say, he’s probably in the top 40 in the NBA. Just my own opinion.
