I just got on NBA.com and clicked on the MVP ladder that they’ve compiled for the season thus far and was pleasantly surprised to find that Paul Millsap made the list. Sure he’s ranked at number 10, but I’m glad to see that there are other people out there that are finally coming around to Millsap and the great player that he is. Hopefully he can keep things up. I hope that things work out for him and he’s selected to play in the All-star game this year.  Go Sap!

  1. Good for Paul! I needed a new jersey a couple years ago and bought his because I was sick of seeing nothing but D Will jerseys. It’s ironic that just a short time later the no name Millsap is in the running for MVP and D Will’s name is no where to be seen.

How can Milsap be 10 really, I know it an honor just to be in the top 10,but really. Milsap LAST WK: 20 ppg | 10.8 rpg | 52.5 FG%. KD LAST WK: 22.3 ppg | 5.7 rpg | 52.6 FG% and HE IS #1? Lebron should be #1 and milsap should be top five , but thats the NBA.

  3. THAT’S MY BOY!!!!!!!!!!!
You know what’s ridiculous, though? THREE of the “MVP” candidates being injured. Dwayne Wade shouldn’t even be on the list. He’s obviously not the MVP of the Heat if they’re doing so well without him. Wade should DEFINITELY be below MIllsap and Aldridge.

  4. We should totally trade Paul Millsap for Andre Igoudala, right Adam?

  5. Nick, I get the jab. I too am a big Igoudala fan. Not sure if anyone listened to the Jim Rome show yesterday, but Iggy is actually a quiet guy that reads a lot of self improvement/motivational books while traveling with the team.

Although the Jazz only lost by 3 points last night (despite the 2 techs and 2 goal tending violations) we really need another big name like Igoudala to not only compete with the elite, but to beat those teams. I would opt for getting rid of Harris to free up some funds and allow Watson, Tinsley and Burks to man the point until we can draft a sufficient replacement.

Despite their age, on paper how are we supposed to compete with names like Nowitski, Kidd, Odam, Terry, Marion, Haywood etc. 2 of the best 6th men in the league on the same team! Next year it will be worse when they add DWill and Howard to the mix. We need 1 more big name player period. 5 of the guys listed above generally require a double team, thus allowing a no name like Bubouis to run layup drills on us all night. We have 2 players that require a double team, Millsap and Jefferson. This offseason I hope we shed Harris, Bell and Howard and pick up a stud like Iggy or a role player like Terry

Someguy (haha), thanks for the link. I hope Millsap can sustain this. He’s having a great year and definitely the kind of guy you want to root for. Props to KOC for grabbing Paul in the 2nd round back in ‘06.

“There will be no love for the slackers around here this season. A tough week will cost you on the KIA Race to the MVP Ladder.

The players listed in this space wouldn’t have it any other way, would they? They are the best of the best. They know it’s risky business, trying to hold on to your spot”. — SEKOU SMITH

Chris paul and D-Wade have been injured. Take them off of the list. They wouldn’t want it any other way, right? (Rolls Eyes)

Screw the race to somebody’s opinion MVP. I’d rather see the Jazz race to the Championship.
