Meet
Game 29: Jazz 97, Magic 93
Posted by: TACOREV on December 23rd, 2012
The author's views are entirely his or her own and may not reflect the views of the Utah Jazz. The Jazz get off to a lousy start but were able to get it turned around to defeat Orlando.
Millsap led with 18 & 7, Hayward finished with 17, and Jefferson and Favors each had 12.
Burks played 20 minutes (which has got to be close to a season high) and scored eight points with three assists, two boards, and a steal. But most important, he led the Jazz with a +/- of +17.
Arron Afflalo scored 20 to lead the Magic, with Nikola Vucevic adding 16 & 16 and Jameer Nelson with 14 & 9.
I suppose that if someone told me we’d go 2-2 on this road trip, I would have taken it. Does that make me content with mediocrity, like this coaching staff and front office appear to be? This Jazz team still has a long way to go, for sure. But as bad as they’ve been on the road this year, 2-2 is an improvement, if minimal.
15-14 on the season, 6-12 on the road.
Back home for the next couple games, starting with the Warriors on Wednesday.
Jazz player of the game: Paul Millsap

I think is good, I insists Jazz have a sick shedule…. so Im trying to support the team dont you think guys???
player of the game… hard work… maybe Favors or Hayward big baskets…. Millsap too.
Special mention: Alec Burks he can help US mr. Corbin dont forget him.
Hayward, Favors and Burks kept us in the game. Millsap was solid tonight.
Good comeback on the road Jazz!
Solid analysis as always Tacorev!
Merry Christmas Jazz Nation:)

“Commitment to Mediocrity”
Out.
Rick Carlisle rips on Mavs effort after loss.
Wish Corbin would do this after getting embarrased.

Sorry Taco player of the game was Hayward with Favors close behind. The win over a below .500 team masks the mediocrity of the situation. Hopefully Moe’s injury may force the FO to act and we can see what they can come up with.

We beat the Magic by 3 points with theirbest player sitting out due to injury. We did not win the game in Brokolyn as the Nets lost it.
The fact that we’re not 0-4 on this trip is staggering. But, David Locke and the front office will sell it as improvement.
“The Jazz are up to 6-12 on the road! We’re such a great team! NBA Finals here we come!”

*We did not win the game in Brooklyn so much as the Nets lost it for us
I bet the spin will be “Corbin trusted Burks, what a great decision by Corbin—Corbin instills confidence in Burks and thats why Burks played well.” Ya right, give me a break.
Once Mos time table is set (multiple weeks Im guessing), if Jazz di not make a move, and seriously think that Tinsley as 1st PG (really a 3rd string) and Watson the 2nd (really a 4th string PG) are going to get us wins with Al dominating minutes and FG attempts, they are freakn crazy!!!
Waston shouldnt be in the NBA. Tinsley has the brain but hes too old to go head to head with Lillard, CP3, Connelly, Parker, Westbrook, Curry, etc. Jazz HAVE to make a move or two:
1) get rid of Watson asap
2) move Tinsley to 3rd PG
3) get Calderon or the like (trade at least Al in process)
4) give back up PG minutes to Hayward/Burks/Foye
And unrelated to PG position, hopefully fire Corbin.
Curry, CP3, CP3, Rubio, Dragic, Lawson, Collision:
Next PG over seven games. Not to mention Watson going head to head with Bledsoe 2x, Ridinour, Miller, Beaubois, Jack. That is a significant mismatch at PG position all night. Trade has to happen.
Guys…I don’t agree with many of the decisions Ty makes…but we just got done playing a brutal opening stretch of 18 of our first 29 games on the road!! Before the season even started, I predicted our team would be hovering right aroung .500 at this point in the schedule. Sure, I would rather we had one a few more games along the way, but things are what they are.
*around* – *won instead of one* – sorry for the typos…
By the way, Merry Christmas to everyone.
Every team at times gives away games. If a team can take away a victory from another team or whatever it is still in the “W” column. Totals come at the end of the season and there are no astricts.
Merry Christmas to you to Jason..
It just seems for every game we steal, we also give one away. Hey! We’re the Robin Hood team! Which…isn’t good.
I think our games against the Clippers are going to be a good measuring stick for our team. With Mo out, I see us struggling. Its the one position where the backups are far inferior to the starter.
Also, Merry Christmas my fellow Jazz fans!
Hopefully what our bench and core 4 have been doing consistently now over the starters will get someone to pull the plug on Al or Sap or Corbin. Personally I dont think its the roster. I think Corbin just is an average coach. But I would be ok with giving one more year if FO at least cleared the path for Favors, Kanter, and Burks to make a jump. Theres just too much talent getting wasted. They are cheap on the books right now. We are not a top 5, 6, or 7 seed playoff team. If we are going to squeak into the playoffs like last year, this year it will be from a major contribution off the bench. Starters are below last years averages. FO do something!
…AND Merry Xmas!! GO JAZZ!!!
Every team steals and gives away. But the Jazz come up with some big wins then all players lay a egg in the next game to a bad team. Any team can beat any other team on any given night. Seems as if when the Jazz play bad they make it a team effort.
