Meet
Louis Amundson: Available

The author's views are entirely his or her own and may not reflect the views of the Utah Jazz.We all know that the Jazz need more depth at the 4 or 5 spot going into the season. Being that Amundson was a key part in the Suns bench and is not returning to Phoenix and still does not have any deals currently working. I think he would be a perfect fit for what we need. He’s a bench player who does not require many minutes. He can put up some production while he is on the floor and most of all he is plenty affordable. What are your thoughts?

I would absolutely love to sign him. We have about $2.4 million of the midlevel exception left. The big concern would be the luxury tax, which would render him a $4.8 million signing. Still, his energy, rebounding, defense, and hustle would be perfect off the bench.
It would surely send a message to all the other teams, Dwill, and Utah’s fans. We want to win and we’ll do what it takes to do so. Bring him in! He’s got sloan type of play written all over him. Little bit of an attitude but only on the court and that says how passionate he is.
He played with the Jazz before and couldn’t crack the regular rotation. He contributed very little. Granted, he had sort of a “break out” year last season with the Suns, but I think their system fit his game better. Why overpay for a guy who isn’t going to see significant playing time?
Why? Cause we have Okur and AK who seem to constantly get sidelined by injuries. It would strengthen our bench and he would be a constant firecracker on the floor getting the rest of our team off their butts and playing with energy. And sure we got Jefferson and Bell this off season to show we still value winning. Yet, until we stack our team with players and over pay on luxury we might not ever get passed L.A.
There have been rumors that the New Orleans Hornets are about to sign him, or are at least the front-runners for him.
Well I still see Amundson or Barron as the top two pieces available for our team. And their both free game apparently as of today Barron is looking to be out of New York for sure.
I was just thinking about this yesterday. It all depends on price. He’s a decent player that could contribute in a Jazz system.
He’s in talks with the Hornets. Would have been a good piece though, he’s a hard worker.
I don’t think we need dept at the 4 position sorry but, he isn’t a 5 but, i do love how the kid plays I’m from AZ and, i have gotten the oppertunity to watch him play a lot. He would fit with Jerry sloan scrappy, defencesive minded player in utah it would be about time. We haven’t had the since Mar Eaton and he was only that because he was so tall.
I completely agree with you. Amundson, would be a perfect fit.
And like that he’s signed to the Golden State Warriors…
