I understand that Nash is no spring chicken, but he is tough, and proven. I’d love to see us pick him up some how.

I’d love this.
It may be nice to pick him up in a trade for some youth. I doubt we could keep him past this season tho. He wants to win a championship and we are “rebuilding.”
Brandon, guessing your not a Jazz fan. Lets trade away youth, for an old guy you believe will leave at the end of the season. Makes sense huh?
Justin, if we were going for a championship this season, I would say heck yeah. But we are not, and so it would be a waste. Like the idea, just doesnt fit into our puzzle.
Well if we could trade like Harris and CJ for Nash, it’d be a great idea, but Phoenix isn’t stupid. I love Nash, he’s always been one of my absolute favorite players, but who knows how much longer he has left. If he had say 4 years in him, I’d say try hard to make it happen, but I don’t know if he has much longer. Nash is a great 3-point and free throw shooter, two things that we could really use right now.
I agree with Patrick about leaving the youth alone. But Nash for Harris/CJ would work and not lose too much. CJ is still too hot and cold. And with Nash running the first unit this team cold go further into the playoffs. Even if they have Nash just until the end of the season.Nash would solve a lot of problems.
It would clear up a bunch of money for next season if Nash chose to move on. (Harris and CJ) hypothetical. Hmmm, next season seems to be filled with PG’s in the Free Agent Market, even if Nash chose to move on. Eh, its sixes when you guys bring up that trade. But leave the young ones on the team.
Anyone hear when Aaron Brooks may be back. I hear China league is done in March… Is that too late for this season? Here is a link to see where he is at this season. Looks like he is back in form.

Eh, a thought.
Woah Patrick calm yourself down. Guessing your not a Jazz fan? Oh yea that’s why I’m here, on this website, talking about the Jazz… Come on man.
Me saying I doubt we could keep past this season pretty much meant lets NOT do it. Who in the world would say take him for 2/3rds of a season only so he can leave? He will either retire or go to a big city.
Either way I’d say no because I bet he goes somewhere like NY, Maimi, or LA in the off season, not to mention PHX is probably asking too much for him.
Nash is 37 and leads the league with 10 assists a game which is completely absurd. Stockton was 33 the final season he led the league in assists and 34 the final season he averaged double-digit assists. I’m not arguing that Steve Nash is a better point guard than Stockton, but I am saying that what he’s doing at this age is truly incredible. That said, I don’t think Nash-to-the-Jazz is the right fit. We are still looking toward the future, so we shouldn’t trade young players for a point guard closing in on 40.
If we just needed one piece of the puzzle to be a contender I would say go for it, but we are far from it. Silly move to give anything decent up if we dnt have a young bloke for him to teach.
@Brandon – Sarcasm is a tough thing to get through sometimes
Just defending my opinion.
Brandon, sorry if I came a bit strong. Your comment may have been incomplete. I do explore other fan sites to see what other teams are thinking and stir up the pot at times. Reading your comment literally, you can see where I may have thought you an impostor. thanks for coming back and explaining. FYI I was never out of sorts, just giving my own opinion. Sorry again if I upset you.
GET RID CJ please!
Patrick, No worries.
Trading youth with potential for a 40 year old is a stupid idea and I can see what you were saying. Thanks!
Lk had to a great idea followed up by patricks take on it all. We want to get rid of harris I wouldn’t mind seeing cj go. Not just for the jazz sake but for cjs sake as well. If he is goin to succeed in any system it would be a suns system. We get nash so we can see if we can be a playoff team this year and, if nash decides to leave well we have money to throw at a few pgs in free agency next year.
I don’t want him. I mean yeah you’re going to get the passer and he can still shoot, but he’s still not a great defender and with a team that’s trying to develop chemistry and has a lot of young players, I don’t see any reason to overturn things for the short term. For all we know, with the Nets crashing and burning the way they are, the Jazz probably can select their new point guard in the very near future.
I see where you are coming kyle, I just see it as win win though. We get what every jazz fan wants a pass first pg this year and we get rid of two players that no one seems to be fond of including me. Sorry cj I just hate how one day you come out with a chip on your shoulder and get to the rim and, the next all u do is shoot threes. I don’t know what to call it because he isn’t inconsistent. He plays completly diffrent and, harris just flat out doesn’t understand the system. Love him as a player but, jazz system and harris just don’t click. So get nash in here if the suns would do a that trade and, I would almost say let him leave this off season. Get all the cash you will get and rebuild the pg spot then. Because we can’t do anythin now you might as well free up some money for next year. Problem though if living in phoenix has shown me one thing nash doesn’t really want to go anywhere else and, the suns don’t want him to go either. So I don’t think this would ever happen but it is fun to think about for sure
