First off, it’s great to finally be able to watch the Jazz again. That being said I have been disappointed with what I have seen. I don’t claim to be a basketball X and O’s expert, but I do love watching/playing the game. But it seems to me that many times when run the pick and roll on offense, the guard after having the screen set, doesn’t look for the roller to the basket, but continues to drive to the middle. I noticed this many times against Memphis and it was driving me crazy as Favors had many opportunities to roll to the hoop unimpeded. The one time that stuck out to me when the guard actually gave up the ball (Hayward), Favors had an easy layup. I’m willing to admit if I’m wrong on this, but it seems that our guards are looking for their shot first, when they have an easy play at the hoop if they will just give the ball up. Thoughts?
